Strange Howls in Independence, MO may be Sasqatch

Strange howls and calls have been heard by several witnesses in Independence, Missouri, which to date are unexplained. A woman who has had a number of UFO sightings at her home near the Missouri River near 291 Highway and 24 Highway in northeast Independence has heard some strange howls that she and her husband cannot identify. An investigator went to the site and heard the sounds as well. The residents are both veteran farmers and are familiar with the usual coyote howls, but say that this is nothing like that.

Sasquatch drawing by Alexa Evans
"The sounds are more like very loud screams coming from one area, then another one answers from a long way away. It's very spooky to say the least," said the witness.

The investigator said she cannot explain the sounds, either. "I've heard coyotes, wolves, elk, and moose, and this is nothing like any of them. I'm completely stumped."

Both the witness and the investigator listened to Sasquatch recordings on the internet and say that is the closest sound to what they are hearing.

A Sasquatch was sighted not far from this location at a stream in Sugar Creek, located west of 291 Highway in 2012 (see my other blog post about that incident for more information). Perhaps this is the same creature, or one of several. In interviewing several witnesses who have Sasquatch on their property I've found that it appears that they travel in groups or clans.

If you live in the area, keep and ear and eye out for these elusive creatures.

What is "Normal?"

A

s I sit at my desk, reeling from the wave of anomalous reports from witnesses that have come in the past few weeks, and my own two UFO sightings —-I wonder—Is the world crazy or is this stuff just normal?

It makes you think. What is “Normal” anyway? Do we have a handle on normality or is it just something we put in a “real” category box, and everything else can be either ignored or put in a different box, perhaps an “imaginary,” or “unsafe,” or “I don’t want to deal with that,” one.  It could be that everyone has their own level of understanding based on their own experiences and it is impossible to say what is real and what isn’t.

But what is real, to me, is likely collected in a much larger box that most people’s, and for that matter, most people who read this magazine probably have a pretty large “Normal” box as well. After seeing real-life alien beings in person when fully awake my opinion on whether or not ETs are real was changed to Absolutely Yes several years ago. But I got to experience this myself. Not everyone has had the opportunity to see Ets for themselves, so this topic may still be a big question for them. It certainly is for many spouses or families of experiencers.

Another thing in my “Normal” box is ghosts. Or if you prefer, spirits. I interact with them, speak to them, and hear them speak. Not always, and certainly not always at the time I want them to do it, but they do communicate nonetheless and occasionally materialize or even appear and feel like solid flesh and bone. Is this reality?  I believe so. If it weren’t the ghost hunting business wouldn’t be so big.

One thing that experiencers have to realize is that until they had the experience, it wasn’t a real phenomena. And so you must be patient with those around you who have not yet had an experience. But once they do, they cross over the line into your world. It may never happen, but more and more people are having unusual experiences and it looks like this is a great awakening of the planet, just as some predicted many years ago.

For those married individuals who have a spouse that cannot or refuses to understand what you have witnessed, and who doesn’t want to discuss it, keep it to yourself. You risk losing your significant other if you insist on bringing up the subject. I’ve seen this happen so many times among paranormal or ET experiencers. The other party is likely afraid of the subject matter, or afraid that you have lost your mind. At some point, you may have to make the break-up decision yourself.

In most cases, people have told me that they were much better off with someone who could relate to their experiences. After all, ongoing visits are something that is a part of your life that is likely never to change. Once you have a handle on that, your world looks different.

Missouri Man has a Clan of Sasquatch on his Property

I have been in contact with a man from Northwest Missouri who has a clan of at least 12 Sasquatch on his property. I was able to interview him at length recently and found that he has been communicating with this clan for several years, and that while normally shy of humans, they are curious, and have come to trust this person I'll call Tom.

Tom has seen Sasquatch children with their mothers, teenage males, adult males, and older males. They seem to stay together as a clan, keeping the females towards the center of the group for protection. The older males are the hunters and the younger males seem to be the protectors. Tom found paths on his property and has determined that the Sasquatch cover themselves in skunk odor in order to mask their scent so the deer won't be tipped off that they are nearby. Then, several Sasquatch lead deer towards a certain area, where they are met with a surprise attack. Apparently, deer are a favorite meal for Sasquatch. Tom says that in order not to spook the deer too badly, the Sasquatch often move the deer herd to a different site, then back again so they won't be tipped off that it is a dangerous area. The Sasquatch work together with coyotes to round up and move the deer.

Tom has been within 15' of a male Sasquatch while outside on his deck, and he and a friend have seen them looking in windows at his televisions. Tom has left food out, which soon disappears. He saw females and males taking the food, which he leaves by a shed. He's also found berries missing from trees and bushes to 12 - 14' up from the ground, but the top part of the tree remains full. Apparently, Sasquatch only get the berries that are easy to reach.

The witness has obtained audio tape of their wood knocks, calls to each other, and even a birth of a baby. I've heard these tapes and they are amazing. The females call with a "Whoop whoop" sound, similar to an owl. The tapes have been reviewed by linguist and Bigfoot researcher Scott Nelson, who says that the calls are definitely not owls, not only because of the tone but because of the frequency at which they occur.

Tom believes that the Sasquatch are very intelligent and are often misunderstood by humans. He is fiercely protective of them so won't give out his exact location to the public. One researcher has been given permission to do an investigation on site and will spend a couple of weeks on the site this summer or fal l(2015). After this is completed I'll post results.

Tom won't allow women researchers on his site because he is afraid that there might be an issue with the male Sasquatch. Since his encounters, Tom has studied the subject extensively and has been in contact with seasoned investigators who say that there have been many cases where women have been abducted by male Sasquatch. For this reason, he keeps women away from the property.

New Facebook site for reporting UFOs in K.C.

Clipart.com
There is a new Facebook group for those in the greater Kansas City area- Kansas City Lights UFO Watch. The group was set up as a place for the public to post photos and descriptions of their UFO sightings. The Kansas City Lights, as they have come to be known, have been appearing in the greater KC area, mostly in eastern Jackson County and Clay county since late April of 2012 where they were first reported by witnesses in Blue Springs, Missouri.

The descriptions of these objects are usually stationary bright lights, the size of Venus, with spinning multi-colored lights that go from right to left. Sometimes more than one of the same type appears in the sky at once. Often the lights remain stationary for a while, then move slowly out of sight, or shoot across the sky at incredible speeds, sometimes returning to the exact same spot it started out. In at least two sighting reports, witnesses watched the object drop to the ground then shoot back up again.

With high-powered binoculars investigators and witnesses have seen grid-like metallic objects around the lights.

The objects have been investigated by seasoned investigators and the International Space Station, planets, and conventional aircraft have been ruled out.

Deer or elk head found in pristine snow in 2002

This historic animal mutilation report was filed by a witness visiting West Yellowstone, Montana in April 2002. The witness found a mutilated head of a deer or elk while hiking in pristine white snow. No blood was found near the head and it appeared to have precise cuts in several areas that were unlike predator wounds. The hiker was so scared, he took off and left for home quickly before saying goodbye to friends.

From the MUFON database:

"...I came upon the head of either a deer or elk in the Gallatin Ntl. Forest in Montana at approx. +44.823916 -111.245975. There is a mountain called

Mt. Hebgen near this area. I had spent a few days in April 2002 volunteering for an animals rights group and we were out in the field all day long - snow still on the ground; sunny days but cold nights. The cabin where we stayed was on the North side of Hebgen Lake Road. During one of my volunteer days, I saw a dead deer along the Madison River - clearly it had perished from the winter cold and had some predator marks on it. Large wolf prints were abundant in the area; howls at night. Elk and deer were spotted and lots of Buffalo. On the morning that I was to leave, I had a horrible urge to hike up into the mountains to the North of the cabin. I just HAD to hike. I got started early in the morning around 7 a.m. as the rest of the volunteers went out toward the Hebgen Lake area for another day of volunteering.

The organization provides boots and snow shoes as well as other winter gear for volunteers in an outside shed. I put on boots but chose not to use snowshoes because I did not think I would be out long and the snow was frozen from the night before enabling one to walk on top of it. It had lightly snowed the previous night and there was about 2 to 3 inches of powder snow over the old, hard snow. I marveled at the beauty of the snow on the evergreen trees. My boots crunched against the frozen snow but I was able to easily walk on it though it was a bit slow because of the incline and also because I had to maneuver a bit through the trees. After a while there was almost a path in which I could easily pass between the trees. I was heading North and to my left I could see some rocky outcroppings and as the sun came out, it hit these and made a beautiful site. Birds were chirping.

For some reason, the fact that there was the light, fresh snow all around me was very much in my mind. I have no idea how long it was before I came around a corner and before me was a clearing of sorts which looked like one could then go toward the left or proceed a bit to the right. But in the middle of this clearing I saw a dark object and as I proceeded closer I realized it was the head of a large deer or small elk. I immediately became spooked because the snow all around it was untouched. The powder-type show was pristine in that clearing and there was the head lying there somewhat facing me as if someone had carefully placed it there. There was no neck. No blood on the snow or on the head anywhere. The clean, pure snow really did spook me - the observation that there was NO snow on the head added to my growing fright. I think it was around this point that I realized that there were no birds chirping. It was extremely silent and I could hear my breath and I was sweating (most likely due to the hike).

Though I was scared,I actually crept toward the head and stooped down at the right, front side to look closely. The ears were gone. Not torn out but as if sliced off and I recall that I could see a hole into the head where the right ear used to be. The left ear hole was not as visible from where I was. I noted that there was no indication that the animal had had horns. Either a young animal or a female (deer or elk I just don't know). The eyes were missing, too. Cleanly removed in circles so that there were two blank holes. The upper and lower lips were also gone so I could see the teeth. I tried to reason in my head that if a predator did it, it would be torn/jagged and not a smooth cut as this was. I do not know if the tongue was gone because the mouth was closed - just missing its lips. Again, there were no prints of any animals around and the snow was pristine all around this head - it was in a clearing with no trees overhead. Another observation that really spooked me was the fact that the skull had a perfect round hole in the top of it. I have to estimate that it was about the size of a half-dollar. It was cleanly cut - again, I thought to myself if a predator wanted to eat the brain, how in the world could it make a cleanly cut hole like that. I could not really see down into the head but it did appear that the brain was missing. The fur did not look decomposed - in fact, if it were not for these other oddities, the head and the fur looked to be in good condition. Fresh. Not old and decomposing or mis-shapen.

Again, I compare this with the site of the dead deer on the Madison River which had clearly been roughed up by predators. This was not. The silence was really getting to me. The fact that there were no prints or other disturbances around the head - the fact that it appeared to have been placed or dropped there from above - and the silence really scared me. I remember backing up and thinking over and over in my head "this can't be a mutilation could it?", "this can't be a mutilation could it?". It was not a cow or a horse. It was just a head - not an entire animal. But how could you explain such a sight AND to put the final nail in the coffin, everything around had a light dusting of snow on it EXCEPT for this head - no snow on it. It was on top of the freshly laid snow. It was as if someone was mocking me - I turned to head back to where I had come from. The sun was out now and unbelievably, my feet were now breaking through the snow and it would go up to my knees or thighs as I had to push my way through the snow. Slow going because of this.

By the time I got back to the cabin, it was around 11:30 a.m. and I was exhausted. I took off my boots and left them in the outside shed where all of the other supplies were kept. I did not go in to say goodbye to anyone. I just felt like I had to get out of there. I felt embarrassed that I had gone hiking alone without telling anyone (everyone knows you do not go hiking alone or not tell anyone where you are going) - and I also thought that it was stupid of me to not have used snowshoes. There was just something strange about how I felt and acted when I returned to the cabin. My bags were already in my car and I was just concerned about getting back to Ogden, Utah in a decent amount of time (where my mom lived). I felt it was important to share this on MUFON - I have been a MUFON FI in So. CA for a couple of years now, and have never had the time to submit this. I am hoping that this information will be helpful as more information is gathered on mutilations. I have had strange experiences my entire life, but on that particular morning, I - truthfully - would have more expected to run into a Sasquatch than a mutilated head which was the farthest thing from my mind that morning when I had that urge to take a hike."

This report is very similar to others, despite the lack of a body, the head had typical mutilation-type wounds and there was no blood anywhere. Seemingly, the head was dropped from above, which would explain the lack of prints in the snow.

NASA to Hold Briefing to Discuss Status of ‘Flying Saucer’ Test

June 08, 2015
MEDIA ADVISORY M15-089
NASA to Hold Briefing to Discuss Status of ‘Flying Saucer’ Test
NASA’s Low-Density Supersonic Decelerator (LDSD) project completed its second flight test when the saucer-shaped craft splashed down safely Monday in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of the Hawaiian island of Kauai. A post-flight media teleconference will be held at 1 p.m. EDT (7 a.m. HST), Tuesday, June 9 to review the test.
Briefing participants are:
  • Steve Jurczyk, associate administrator for the Space Technology Mission Directorate at NASA Headquarters in Washington
  • Mark Adler, LDSD project manager at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, California
  • Ian Clark, LDSD principal investigator at JPL
To participate by phone, reporters must contact Kim Newton by email at kimberly.d.newton@nasa.gov or 256-653-5173 no later than 5 a.m. Tuesday.
Audio of the teleconference will be streamed live at:

NASA’s Low-Density Supersonic Deceleratortest vehicle begins its ascent to 180,000 feet aboard a helium-filled balloon. It launched from the U.S. Navy’s Pacific Missile Range Facility on Kauai, Hawaii, to test entry, descent and landing technologies NASA will need to land large payloads on Mars and other distant planets.

LDSD launched at 7:45 a.m. HST (1:45 p.m. EDT) from the U.S. Navy’s Pacific Missile Range Facility using a large scientific balloon. After it was carried to an altitude of nearly 120,000 feet, the LDSD test vehicle separated from the balloon. An on-board rocket motor ignited and continued to carry the vehicle to nearly 180,000 feet.
Two advanced decelerator technologies – a supersonic inflatable aerodynamic decelerator and a supersonic parachute – were tested. The supersonic inflatable aerodynamic decelerator deployed and inflated. The supersonic parachute also deployed, however, it did not perform as expected. Data was obtained on the performance of both innovative braking technologies, and the teams are beginning to study the data.
The LDSD project is one of several cross-cutting technologies NASA's Space Technology Mission Directorate is developing to advance the critical technologies required to enable future exploration missions to destinations beyond low-Earth orbit, including an asteroid, Mars and beyond.
LDSD testing is conducted through NASA's Technology Demonstrations Missions program, based at the agency’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, with technology development work and testing led by JPL. NASA's Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia coordinated range and safety support with the Pacific Missile Range Facility and provided the balloon systems used to launch the LDSD test vehicle.

Entity in Burr Oaks Woods?

I received the following e-mail from a man in 2006 which I just ran across again today and thought it would be a good idea to post it on the blog for everyone to see. The next time you go out to Burr Oak don’t go alone! The email is here, in entirety with no editing:

“Hello Margie:  I live here in eastern Jackson County. I heard your radio show today with you and those other ladies about ghostly apparitions and poltergeists activities and so forth. The show was interesting and thought provoking. I have an incident that happened to me about 5 years ago that I want to tell you about.

I have told very few people about this. Two of the people I told since thought I was not telling the truth or maybe I was seeing things and did not take me seriously. I was walking out at a State Park called Burr Oak Woods which I live near.

It was a very cold January day in 2001 and probably about in the nearly 20’s temp wise. I used to take long walks in the woods and I found it very relaxing. I was walking in some very dense forests in that park. After walking through a grove of big oak trees I came into a clearing.  Right in front of me was a man standing a few feet away from me.  What was strange- right away I noticed was that the man was standing with his back to me. I walked two more steps thinking he would turn and maybe say hello or something to that effect. But I immediately had a very strange feeling fall over me.

I sensed that there was something terribly wrong.  At that point I wanted to get away from him as quickly as possible.  So I started walking away from him, always facing him.  I was really a little scared at this point because he still had his back to me.  I kept on walking backwards until I got about 100 yards or so away from him.  All this time he was still there standing with his back to me.

Burr Oak Woods  Photo: Google Earth
When I got what I thought was a relatively safe distance away from him I put my binoculars to get a closer look at him.  As soon as I got the binoculars focused on him then at that time he turned around to look at me.  It’s as though he knew I was looking at him with the binoculars.  It was truly one of the most EVIL looking faces I ever saw on a human being. With two bad knees- I took off running and got out of the forest. One other thing that I thought was really strange: It was very cold and all this guy had on was a seemingly thin pair of slacks and a dark gray short=sleeved shirt. I remember the incident as if it were yesterday.

Any thoughts or ideas as to what this might have been I would be grateful to hear.  J. D. Grain Valley, Missouri”

-----------------------------------------
I took a look at a map and Burr Oak Woods is less than a mile away from Lake Tapawingo and Blue Springs Lake, where many strange things have been reported to me over the past few years including bigfoot and UFO sightings, and strange lights in the water. I wonder if the witness did not see a human at all but something else entirely.  Margie Kay
